37th Annual Ladies Retreat
Awakening Our Senses
We are thrilled to have Linda Hogans as our 2016 retreat speaker. Sister Hogans has been a member of the Lord’s church since August 30, 1979. Since that time she has devoted her life to serving in the Lord’s vineyard in many capacities. Linda has taught ladies’ Bible classes, high school girls’ class, assisted in the new converts’ class, supports the door knocking campaigns and conducts home Bible studies. She received her Ph.D. in Leadership and Administration with a specialization in higher education. Linda is employed with St. Petersburg College as the executive director of the Retention Services.
During this special time, we will be sharing with our sisters through singing, fellowship, prayer requests, studying God’s Word, and crafts. Plan now to be part of this year’s event. We ask you to join with the members of the committee in praying for the success of this retreat and we encourage you to invite your sisters and friends.
Dress is casual, so plan to be comfortable. You do not have to stay overnight at the building, but two rooms will be provided for those who want to. One room is “lights out” at 11:00, and the other is at 2:00. If you are sleeping at the church building, remember to bring a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, toiletries, and any personal essentials you’ll need.
This is a great time to encourage your husband to spend some extra special time with your children. This is also a good time for husbands to support women who need child care during the weekend.
This retreat is for women, high school age and up. Based upon past evaluations, the elders request there be no children in attendance.
During the retreat everyone has a personal mailbox in which we provide several goodies. We will also provide several door prizes throughout the retreat. If you would like to make a donation for the mailboxes (please not just advertisements) contact Melissa Brunner at 310-2528, Peggy Jones at 727-8520, or the church office at 272-7584. For door prize donations, contact Rhonda Chase at 901-650-9815 or the church office. Items must be at the building by Sunday, February 14.
Registration
There is a $5.00 registration fee. However, if that is a hindrance, scholarships are available. Your early registration helps us with the planning for food and supplies for everyone. Dinner and check-in will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday. If you have not registered in advance, you may do so at that time. The retreat will end at approximately 4:00 PM on Saturday.
If you choose to complete a paper registration form, return it and your $5.00 to Verneta Wallace or one of the Anchorage church secretaries. For those of you away from our congregation, you may also utilize one of the options below.
